May/June Newsletter

MAY you have a WONDERFUL month!

iPod Touches in the Learning Commons

We now have 15 iPod Touches in the Learning Commons that are available for checkout by teachers for use in the classroom! We will be using the iPod Touches for Morning Fitness groups and other small groups, but if you would like to check them out for the classroom, just let us know! The iPods were purchased through a grant provided to the Learning Commons by the Lexington 1 Educational Foundation.

Book Fair

Book Fair is back! Our May Book Fair will be May 28 - May 31. This is a great time to get ready for SUMMER READING! Join us for Family Night on Thursday, May 30. We will be open until 6pm!

Summer Reading

Research shows that children who do not read over the summer have a harder time getting back in the swing of things in the Fall and they often suffer from the "summer slide." Don't let this happen! READ, READ, READ this summer! I will be putting together a list of great books and authors and other resources to check out over the summer. This list will go home with report cards at the end of the school year.
