What is a Micro-Scholarship?
A micro-scholarship is an amount of money that students are eligible to earn based on individual achievements throughout 9th - 12th grade. They are awarded by colleges and universities who partner with www.Raiseme.com Enter your grades each semester, and all activities, jobs, and volunteering and watch the money add up! Follow those schools offering you money by their deadline!

Virtual Calming Room - Check-it Out!
The Virtual Calming Room is a place for students, families and staff to find strategies for managing emotions and feelings in positive ways while building resilience. Sometimes, life gets challenging and overwhelming. We can feel stressed with life’s events, both big and small. The Virtual Calming Room provides resources and tools to help you find new ways to manage life, explore new problem solving opportunities and develop coping skills. Enjoy and take some time for yourself.

You will get the form from the person you contacted in Step 2.Plan to take your STAMP test on Friday, December 11 beginning at 8 a.m. (if you are testing in the fall). We will let you know which room you will be in for testing.
Dr. Blackburn will hold an open Zoom meeting on Friday, October 16 at noon.

Lexington High School FIT Program
The Lexington High School FIT Program (Food Improving Thinking) consists of providing nutritious food during the weekends and holidays when students who need meals may be left without an adequate supply of nutritious food.
The program provides individually packed food items that students can prepare by themselves. Seasonal fruit may be included. Bags of food will be delivered in a discreet manner once a week, for now on Tuesdays and Thursdays, then on Fridays throughout the normal school year. Anonymity will be assured.

Ready to Work Career Readiness Assessment
If you're in your 4th year of high school, you will be participating in the Ready to Work career-readiness assessment this fall. This test was originally planned for Spring 2020, but due to COVID, it was delayed and you will be taking it this fall. Ready to Work (R2W) is a career-readiness assessment administered to students to determine student achievement in three key subjects: applied mathematics, locating information, reading for information.
Testing dates for the fall will be as follows:
- A Cohort - Tuesday, October 20
- B Cohort - Wednesday, October 21
- LOOLA - Friday, November 6
Parents and students in the LOOLA program should have received an informational email on October 5 from Carol Anderson about this assessment. LHS needs to prepare for transportation and lunch needs for these students, so please complete the google form located in the email.

Russian Flagship Program
The Language Flagship sponsors eight Russian Flagship Programs across the U.S.; each offers unique strengths and provides undergraduate students with pathways to professional-level proficiency in Russian alongside the academic major of their choice.
If you are interested in learning more about Russian Flagship programs and schools, sign up to attend a virtual open house here either October 1, October 8, or October 15.

Sign Up for ASVAB
The ASVAB test (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) will be administered on Friday, November 13, 9 a.m. at LHS and is available to students in the 10th, 11th, and 12th grade.
ASVAB scores are used to determine if you are qualified to enlist in the military and to assign you to an appropriate job in the military. The ASVAB is also a great career exploration tool.
Taking the test does not obligate you, or register you for military service.
Students can sign up for the ASVAB by emailing Mr. Magyar or Mrs. Augsburger.

Varsity Football hosts Dutch Fork, Friday, October 16 - Ticket Sale Info
There will be a limited number of spectators that are allowed in the stadium. To help control that number we will be pre selling tickets. Please see below for information on how entry into the game will work. Social distancing and a mask (4 and over) will be required at the event.
Student Section Tickets
- Tickets are $7
- Sold out of the Athletic Office, 8am-4pm
- Cohort A & Virtual (55 tickets) - Seniors - Monday, 10/12. Underclassman, Tuesday, 10/13.
- Cohort B & Virtual (55 tickets) - Seniors - Wednesday, 10/14. Underclassman, Thursday, 10/15.
- Students can only purchase one ticket
- Must have specific student section ticket to sit in student section
General Admission
- Tickets are $7
- Sold out of the Athletic Office (Steep set of stairs on the left hand side of gym, by baseball field)
- Sold Wednesday, 10/14, and Thursday, 10/15, 8:00 - 4:00 and Friday, 10/16, from 8am-12pm
- General Admission will be able to purchase two tickets per family
- Students/Children must sit with family if general ticket is purchased
- Children 5 and under are not required to have a ticket
Lexington One Employees, Golden Passes, SCHSL Passes
- Must show pass to exchange for ticket on ticket sale days
