The protestant reformation

Against the Roman Catholic Church
The protestant reformation was started primarily by Jan Hus. He spoke out against the Roman Catholic Church, telling about problems including the mass being spoken in latin, and buying indulgences to get out of purgatory. Later, Martin Luther posted the 95 theses, with 95 problems he had with the church. Even later, King Henry the 8th broke away from the church because the pope wouldn't let him get a divorce, forming the Anglican Church. His daughter, Queen Elizabeth the 1st, was also Anglican.
Jan Hus: heresy
Jan Hus was a man who didn't believe that indulgences would buy you into pergatory. He did not think that it was fair the bibles were printed in latin, so the mass couldn't understand. He openly explained that he was against the Roman Catholic Church. Eventually, they found out, and he was charged with heresy. He was burned at the stake and died July 6th, 1415.
Martin Luther: 95 theses
Martin Luther was extremely brave by nailing the 95 theses to the door of the Church. A few of his problems where the fact Priest couldn't get married and the issues with indulgences. Almost all Hussites believed you couldn't buy your'e way into heaven. He nailed the 95 theses to the door of the church in Wittenburg, Germany. He was a monk, priest, theologian, and professor. He was born on November 10th, 1483. He died February 18th, 1546 at the age of 62.
King Henry the 8th: The Anglican Church
King Henry the 8th founded the Anglican Church. He had six wives. One of the many wives was Katherine of Aragon. He wanted a divorce badly, but the Pope wouldn't give it too him. He was so upset about this that he broke away, and founded the Anglican church by himself. He was born in Greenwich, London on June 28th 1491. He died January 28th 1547.
