I would call this a historical fiction book because it is based off of a true story. I have always liked to read these types of books, but never learned this much about this subject. I always knew that it was a harship if you were a Jew during that time period, but nothing this bad. This book definitly changes your perspective on the Holocaust. I didn't realise that they had to walk for 20+ days in the Winter. It blows my mind that someone can do that with no food, water, and shelter. This book is definitly a book I would recomend because of its great content. If you are looking to expand your knowledge on the Holocaust then you should really read this book.
Survival in Auschwitz
This book is similar because they both are at Auschwitz at a time. This one is based here, but Prisoner B-3087 was here for a couple of months. In the end, they both are relased because the Nazis fled the camp. Even thought the Soviets saved Primo, from this book, they are very similar. This book isn't about 10 camps, but they were both very close to being put inside of the gas chamber and killed. In Prisoner B-3087, he almost always wanted to die from the gas or bombs from the allies. They both wanted to die at some point, but only if it was instant.
This book starts out just like Prisoner B-3087. It has them fenced off living in the getto. The biggest difference is her age. She is four in the beginning and Jack is 13 years old. Her dad out smarted the Germans and saved his family from going to a camp. They were very lucky in this case while Jack and his family were not. Jack had to go to 10 different camps and Syvia didn't have to go to any. She was very lucky in this case because she didn't have to face the endless hours of work.
I Am A Star
This book is about the Holocaust just like Prisoner B-3087. This book is similar because it also was based in a concentration camp. The reason the title is I Am A Star is because the Jews had to wear a star on their jackets. This made it had for Jews to try to get away. This was a big part in Prisoner B-3087 because he was trying to act like he was from Poland. Only one guy noticed he switched over and told the guard. He was very lucky he wasn't shot and killed right there. These books are very similar.
