October 8 - Are You Ready to Take the RESA?
This session will prepare participants to take the Resident Educator Summative Assessment (RESA) in Year 3. Listen and learn from a panel of experienced teachers who have previously taken the RESA. Amy Vincent, MVESC Mentor and Facilitator, will walk you through the task components and requirements as you learn ways to prepare for the RESA this year.

October 9 - Understanding Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) for the McKinney-Vento Homeless Act and Foster Care
Children who are in foster care or who are experiencing homelessness need support to ensure they have equal access for a free and appropriate public education. This training will provide the guidance and resources you need to support districts and agencies around the McKinney-Vento Homeless Act and children in foster care.

October 16 - Gifted 101 for Grades K-12
In this learning session, participants will learn the basics of teaching this student population by:
• Examining characteristics of students who are gifted.
• Reviewing and knowing their district’s processes to identify students who are gifted.
• Exploring resources and frameworks that support higher-level thinking and complexity.
• Learning the components and how to develop Gifted Written Education Plans.

Audience: First-year gifted service providers (general educators and AP instructors)
October 16 and 17 - Ready Bodies, Learning Minds
During this training, participants will:
• Learn the essential connection between motor/sensory development and the ability to perform tasks necessary for increased independence and behavioral control.
• Receive information regarding the research-base for the program.
• See multiple demonstrations of lab set-up and activities adapted to students with multiple impairments.
• Practice those lab activities.

October 21 - I Suspect a Disability. Now What? (Five-part Series)
This five-part after-school series is designed to help teachers and intervention specialists see how school psychologists assess various disability conditions. The series also will explain the role teachers play in making eligibility determinations for suspected children (data collection, interview questions, behavior checklists, adaptive behavior, etc.). Contact hours will be available for each part of the series. Participants may elect to do any or all of the sessions in the series.

October 25 - LAMP Words for Life for Accent: Vocabulary Review, Programming and Basic Implementation
Participants will learn about LAMP Words for Life, as well as programming, customizing and basic implementation of the vocabulary for Accent products. This training is not for those using LAMP Words for Life on an iPad. A Prentke Romich Company Accent device or laptop is required for this training. Please bring an Accent 800, 1000, 1200 or 1400 running
the latest version of software. Participants may bring a laptop computer preloaded with PASS demo software and the appropriate language system. If you want to use a Mac laptop, you will need a Windows 7 or higher emulator with PASS installed. PASS software is not compatible with iPads.
