Get "Hooked" on a Good Book!

March is Reading Month is just around the corner!! Our MiRM theme is Get "Hooked" on a Good Book! We hope that during March students get so "hooked" on books that they can't stop reading! Student reading logs will go home with students on Monday, February 25th. Students will start tracking their reading minutes on Friday, March 1st. This year, all important information about March is Reading Month is included in a Smore newsletter (click the button below to access the MiRM Smore newsletter). March is going to be filled with READING FUN!

Please join us for our next PTA General Meeting on Tuesday, March 12th. It is a great way to stay informed and learn about upcoming events at Silver Springs. There are many activities and events coming up in the next few months. You might hear about something that sparks an interest to help or get more involved. We hope to see you there!


We are hoping to fill our Chair positions for next year so everyone can be ready and prepared. Please come and ask any questions if you have an interest to be involved. We want to be able to continue all the wonderful events and activities that PTA provides for our students and Silver Springs!

After-School Science

Register for Earth Works!! Have you ever wondered how the Earth works? Each week students will perform experiments such as exploring dinosaurs, volcanos, crystals, magnets and much more!! Students will take home the creations they make in class to continue the science FUN!!


Who: Students in grades Kindergarten-4th Where: Silver Springs Elementary Art Room

When: WEDNESDAYS, 3:45-5:00 pm: 04/10, 04/17, 04/24, 05/01, 05/08, 05/15, 05/22

Tuition: $133 per student; $105 for student with parent helper, parent helpers must attend all 7 weeks. All materials are included. (A portion of tuition goes to Silver Springs PTA)

Art to Remember - Due Date Extended to March 18th

The Silver Springs PTA is so happy to be working with Art to Remember again this year! It is a great program that allows you to buy keepsakes showcasing your child’s artwork. With more than 40 products to choose from, you’re sure to find something special. They also make great gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day or a special birthday. Check out the poster hanging up on the PTA board as you enter the school to see some of their awesome products! The Due Date has been extended to March 18th. We are excited to see what creative talent our Silver Springs artists turn in this year! Please be sure your child writes their full name on the back of their artwork with their teachers name and grade.

SMENS and Gel Crayons will be back on sale…

March 26-28th before school


Help support the PTA by buying a fruity smelling pen or gel crayon. We would like to spruce up the playground for spring fun with our proceeds.

Calling All Silver Springs Students and Families Last Family Skating Party of the School Year!

Save The Date – Monday, April 8th . 6 – 8 pm


Let’s get as many skaters as we can to ROLL into this PARTY! Mrs. Booth will be there with her skates on and hopefully some teachers will join us too! The SS PTA will receive ½ the admission back from each skater. This is a BIG opportunity to help raise some money. Fun, music, and exercise with family and friends while helping Silver Springs earn money. It’s a Win-Win for all!

Friendship Making a (Book) Mark Fundraiser!

The Silver Springs Peer Pal program is excited to announce that we will be selling bookmarks throughout the month of March as a way to celebrate friendship and March is Reading Month. Bookmarks will be sold before school for 50 cents apiece. All proceeds will go to support the Peer Pal Program, which promotes peer relationships and friendships among students. Help us celebrate friendship and reading! It’s a win-win!

The 2nd Grade Girl Scout Brownie Troop is doing a service project to benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Ann Arbor. Please consider sending in sample/travel size toiletries and pop tabs now through March 22. See flyer for more information.

Northville Youth Football Association - Registration

It's registration time again!!! If you are interested in your child learning the fundamentals of flag/tackle football or cheer plus learning how to be an integral part of a team then Northville Football and Cheer is looking for them. Registration for veterans now until the 9th of March. New player registration starts the 10th.
