First & Second Grade AIM
AIM Day!
Today we started exploring the geography of China (natural barriers) in preparation for our next idea/product for our souvenir shop ( a mini landform globe that we will make out of clay). The first landform that we studies are the Himalayan Mountains. Together we watched a 2 minute "reenactment" of the process of how mountains are formed, created a mini model of two tectonic plates colliding by using Milky Way chocolate bars (or clay depending on their need/preference), read an article about some of the characteristics of the Himalayan Mountains, wrote a summary paragraph and... shopped in our MORE store. Those kids know exactly how many weeks have passed since the last time the store opened - I don't even have to keep track because they do it for me!
