Parent Update
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving break. We have less than 3 weeks before our Christmas Recess (December 24th - December 31st). Thank you to all the families that were able to attend the meetings in person or virtually.
Thank you to our staff and very generous community members for allowing us to create 28 Thanksgiving Day food baskets that the staff was able to deliver to families within our community. We wanted to send a special thank you to the following groups for their direct donations: At the Lake Vacation Rentals, Berkshire Hathaway , Bradley's Hardware, Full Belli Deli, HUnters Stop n Save, Keller Williams Coastal and Mountains Real Estate, Lucas Roasting, PaintWinni, and especially a HUGE thank you to Maxfield Real Estate for their extremely generous donation. It was great to see our communities come together to support our local families.
Our winter sports programs have finished their tryouts and practices are underway. A reminder to middle school families that students participating in KRMS sponsored activities need to keep their work habit grades in good standing to continue their involvement on teams and organizations.
Please see below some updated information about what is currently happening here at KRMS. First, I wanted to remind families that we have started to offer Covid-19 testing here at school for families that want to participate. This can be done here at school or through contacting our school nurse and setting up a drive-up time. The permission slip for those needing a test can be found below or you can reach out to our school nurse, Mrs. Nicole Hoyt. In addition, we have provided a "Snow-Day" schedule in the event that the schools are closed due to weather, but we would still have remote instruction. This has taken the place of how we used to do "Blizzard Bags." Please make sure you check your messages from the superintendent on such days to know if they are truly a "snow day" (no school at all) or they are a "remote day" where instruction is provided through Google Meet as indicated in the schedule below.
Finally, please see the event posted below for our KRMS Holiday band and chorus Concert TOMORROW. This was re-recorded and will live-stream tomorrow night (DECEMBER 8TH at 7:00 pm from the comfort of your own home. If you don't see the link below find the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLqXAjhoDIE
Although this is an exciting time for many, this time of year can also be stressful for children with the upcoming holidays. If the school can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to reach out. Thank you for your continued support and collaboration.
Sincerely,
James A. Reilly
