Beanstack Reading Challenge:
Maple School is piloting a new reading program that encourages independent reading with staff and students alike! Beanstack is an online program that allows teachers and students to track their reading minutes and earn badges throughout the year. Students can even log their reading at home via the mobile app. Please see the flier to set up the mobile app at home to promote further reading!

Christmas Break Clean Up:
Christmas break is a wonderful time to wash up those coats, bookbags, etc., that tend to get pretty dirty over the weeks. This will assist us with keeping germs at bay at Maple.
Food Pantry Donation:
Maple students and staff collected food to donate to the Hoopeston Food Pantry this month. This was part of our holiday celebration events.

Christmas Around the World Kindergarten students and Miss Troxel's room have been learning all about Christmas traditions around the world this month! | Learning to Share Kindergarten students are learning to share their stories they are writing in class. Students are also learning to do good listening when their friends are sharing. | Capacity Kindergarten students were learning about capacity in science this month! They used their clay to make dishes to hold water. |

Letters to Santa First grade students(along with the rest of the building) wrote letters to Santa! Jean Day Coupon Fairies Mrs. Root and Mrs. Vines handed out jean day coupons for staff members participating in the Eleven Days of Christmas dress up days! Jean coupons are always a hit! | Mad About Plaid Friday, December 11th was plaid day at Maple! Buffalo plaid was quite popular! |
