4th Annual Titus Book Swap . . .

In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ birthday, we will hold our 4th Annual Titus Book Swap on March 2nd. We ask that you search your book shelves for gently used trade books, chapter books, children’s cookbooks, etc. to donate to this event. Beginning Monday February 1st, boxes will be located in the rotunda labeled by grade/reading level. Please deposit the books in the appropriate boxes.

We ask each child to donate between 2-4 books. We are looking forward to another successful year of swapping out our favorite titles!!!

Titus' Wellness Ambassadors . . .

Our Wellness Ambassadors for 2016-20 17 have been hard at work with weekly morning announcements on Mondays.

  • Dylan and Jeremy in 4th grade are focusing on the nutrition value of the snacks we choose to eat
  • Mia and Emma in 5th grade are focusing on the new foods offered in the cafeteria this year and continuing with their theme of Try It!
  • Cole and Vaughn in 6th grade are focusing on nutrition in our packed lunches from home. They will also coordinate the “Activity Challenge” in the spring for 5th and 6th grade students.

QUEST - Extending Beyond Classroom . . .

Titus 4th graders have been working on a biomedical engineering project in QUEST. Students are working in small groups to design and build a prosthetic leg for a client. In order to learn more about prosthetic legs, the students met with guest speaker Jim Concannon. Mr. Concannon wears a prosthetic leg and is able to scuba dive, golf, and play basketball. The students enjoyed hearing about how his leg works and what it’s like to wear a prosthesis, and they received many suggestions that they will use as they are engineering their own legs!
