Happy Martin Luther King Day West Briar-
Friday we held a community safety meeting that fostered great conversations related to this MLK quote. We came up with quite a few ideas to work on the character of our students and of our school community. Report Cards did not go out Friday as the district was having a technical issue with Power School. They should be printed to go out Tuesday, but an update will be sent if there's further issues. Please note that you can always check your student's real-time grades in Power School (app or website).
Finally, a huge congratulations and good luck to Art student Angela Ma who's Rodeo Art work has been selected to compete at NRG! See her magnificent art work below and wish her well in this competition as she represents West Briar!

Free COVID-19 PCR Testing @ WBMS
HISD is offering free COVID-19 PCR Testing on campus January 23rd. We must have more than 5 people sign-up for this testing in order for them to come out for it.
Testing is completely voluntary and requires parent/guardian consent first. Free testing puts our student's health first, it allows us to maximize learning in school and promotes equity by ensuring every student has access to testing if they want it and if you, as their parent/guardian, provide consent.
- Testing is quick and easy. Trained medical professionals will conduct testing with a short, shallow nasal swab.
- Test results will be available within 24-48 hours.

Looking for Translation Assistance
We are looking for a group of parents that would be able to help us translate with parents of different languages. Unfortunately, the district does not provide translators which makes it difficult for us to communicate with some of our parents.
If you are able to offer your time and translating abilities for any of the languages below, please reach out to our Social Worker- Ms. Madison Taylor at madison.taylor@houstonisd.org. We would truly appreciate it!
