MR. MELA'S MESSAGE
Dear Families,
Congratulations to the Select Band, Orchestra, and Chorus on their superb performances this week at the Winter Concert and State House. Thank you to so many families for your support and dedication to our music program.
Mr. Donegan, Ms. Kenney, and Ms. Leedy-Andreozzi directed the students with great energy, enthusiasm, and enjoyment. We are lucky to have such strong leadership in the music department.
Enjoy the weekend,
Jeff
FIRST TRIMESTER CITIZENSHIP AWARDS
Congratulations to the students who were recognized this past Tuesday for their outstanding citizenship. Each trimester, homeroom teachers, UA teachers, and staff nominate students for being kind, respectful and helpful towards their classmates and adults in the building.
SERF SUDBURY
This year, SERF created an incredible opportunity for students to apply for grants to help make a difference at Curtis. The winning grants would receive $1000.
SERF was thrilled with the range of student grants they received from Curtis and from across the district. They were impressed by the range of ideas that students were thinking about - from ones that impact the local and global environment, to ones that build appreciation of one another, to ones that support kids' health and academic growth. Generating ideas is one thing, but taking steps to talk with a teacher, plan, fill out a form and speak with a principal heightened the risk-taking level.
For SERF and the community review panel, choosing ONE from each school was a challenging task. The process generated a tremendous amount of curiosity about and appreciation for what students experience at Curtis. The panel consisted of representatives from the community - a librarian from Goodnow, an officer from the Sudbury Police and Fire departments, a high schooler, several local business owners, and families ranging from having some of the littlest children to empty nesters in town.
Congratulations to Graham Anderson, Bryce Gilman, and Ryan Boretti, who were chosen as winners for their idea to build a Gaga Pit. The Gaga Pit will be a great addition to the Curtis school and will bring great pleasure to many students.

Curtis Amazon Wish List - A Great Way to Spread Holiday Cheer and Support our School!
Just in time for the holiday season, the CPO has set up an Amazon wish list with Curtis teacher and staff requests. From K-Cups to classroom materials, there is a lot to choose from across grades, UAs, and staff offices! The wish list is a great way to show your appreciation to teachers, staff, and teams!
Items are delivered directly to Curtis - no gift wrapping required, so it's an easy and convenient way to give! However, PLEASE EDIT THE GIFT RECEIPT during checkout to include the recipient's name so that we can get your gift to the intended recipient! Many teachers request similar items, and the boxes often arrive with no information, so please make this quick edit so that we know who gets what! Lastly, because families give in different ways, the idea of the wish list is that it is anonymous.
Thank you for supporting our teachers and staff! The wish list can be found here and will be updated continually as new items are added. http://curtiscpo.org/wishlist/ Questions? Reach out to wishlists@curtiscpo.org
