--All things seem possible in May--

We have arrived to final complete month of the school year. This week brings another progress report period (six weeks). It is likely that for students who have fallen behind, this grading period will bring them the sense of urgency needed to get caught up. Please reach out to teachers this upcoming week to ask questions regarding your students, be sure to encourage your students to have conversations about grades and how to maintain their effort. Here at the school teachers will be busy reaching out to connect with all of our Royal Scots, although we do not have that much time left in the school year, we still have enough time to finish strong.

This was another successful week for two groups of McKay students. Our Speech and Debate team , alongside our Scots-Appella closed out another great year. This weekend all three members of the Royal Scots Speech and Debate Team were privileged to attend the OSAA State Championship at Western Oregon University. Piper Martin competed in the Informative category and qualified for the semi-final. She placed 8th out of 20 overall. Izaak De Jesus competed in the category of Original Oratory and barely missed the cut for the semi-final. He finished 10th out of 19 overall. Seth Matheny competed in Radio Commentary, which is a much more competitive event. He finished 18th out of 30 overall.

Also taking place this weekend was our Scots-Apella's trip to NYC for the ICHSA Finals. Our Scots-Apella have worked hard all year to be at their best for this moment. On Friday we found out that their hard work paid off. This group of Royal Scots placed 2nd at national competition, and we couldn't be more proud.
