Shepard News & Notes
November 22, 2016
Hello Shepard Families:
As we break for Thanksgiving, I want to share my personal thanks for the part you play in supporting the strong school community that is Shepard. You support our teachers, send us students who are ready to learn, and partner with us in so many ways to enhance the experience for all who call Shepard home. Thank you!
Please also join me in thanking our talented staff of educators and support staff that work closely with your children each day. Please take a moment to share a short personal message of thanks with a staff member(s) by filling out this brief form. Your responses may be printed in the next edition of News & Notes, so please be sure your comment is intended to be shared with a larger audience.
Again, thank you and enjoy the holiday!
Warm Regards,
John

1st/FINAL Posting - Student Engagement Survey
As part of our overall commitment to safety, wellness, and education, we are again going to administer a Student Engagement Survey to all students in grades 3-8 between November 28th and December 9th. This tool helps us assess the levels of student engagement, feelings of student safety, and perceptions of belonging and self-esteem. After we receive the results, principals and teachers will celebrate areas of strength and analyze areas to grow, developing action plans where necessary to increase student learning and engagement.
The survey is completely anonymous and no identifying information is collected from the student.
Parents, if you would like your child to opt out of this survey (per Board policy 7:15) please contact me by Monday, November 28, 2016.
