Classroom A November Newsletter
Welcome to Classroom A
Dear Families,
We have completed another month of school and family gatherings! Parent-Teacher conferences are coming soon. Be on the lookout for the family conference form which has been sent home and through email. At your conference, we will discuss your child’s progress since the beginning of the school year and go over any concerns or questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Reema and Ms. Rachel
Look What We've Been Up To!
This month we wrapped up our study, “The Beginning of the Year”. The children are now comfortable with the routines of the classroom. They are participating in our daily group activities, games, and songs. They are beginning to feel secure and show confidence with things that are familiar to them. During this unit we discussed friends and feelings, as well as different emotions. Many children can identify the emotions of happy, sad, anger, love, excitement, and fear. They are learning that we have different feelings in different situations. Expressing those feelings is normal, healthy, and important, and should be respected.

Enjoy Learning at Home
We can all see the trees are changing colors and dropping many leaves to the ground! This provides a lot of opportunities for easy learning at home activities. Here are some you can try with your child:
- Go on a leaf hunt. Provide your child with a number of leaves to collect on the hunt. Count along with your child as he/she picks up each leaf. Bring the leaves home and sort them by color or size. Talk about which leaves are bigger or smaller, which color you found more or less of, and which ones you like the best.
- Use the leaves you collected to create a pattern (AB patterns are great for beginners - red, yellow, red, yellow, etc.). If your child is ready for a challenge try an ABC pattern (red, yellow, orange, red, yellow, orange, etc.). You can even glue the leaves to a paper to show your pattern.
- Use the leaves you collected to create a one of a kind picture. Allow your child to glue the leaves to paper and then use markers or crayons to add extra details to the picture. Talk about what he/she created. If your child provides you with a description, write it on the paper so they can see the written words.
- Finally- jump in some leaves, chase some leaves, roll around in some leaves- just enjoy the beauty of nature and get in some wonderful gross motor fun!
