PRINCIPAL NEWS AND NOTES
MAY-JUNE 2020
SCHOOL'S ALMOST OUT!!!!!

CHECKING IN
I'm sure everyone is on the countdown to June 5th, our last student day. It is so bittersweet that we are having to end the school year the way we are. I surely will miss those last day hugs and waving at buses and shouting, "See you in August". My hope is that August comes and we get to greet students coming off of buses.
Although the last few months have been trying and different, to say the least. Remote learning could never take the place of live, classroom instruction, we all know that. But, teachers worked harder than ever to plan and provide lessons for students. They went above and beyond what was to be minimal instruction. They kept connections with and for students. KUDOS! Students persevered and pushed through assignments and glitches with technology. KUDOS! Parents managed to assist their students while working from home, parenting and navigating Zoom, Schoology, See Saw, Flipgrid, etc. KUDOS! Thank you, to everyone, for making this new schooling work. When we started, we were determined that Everything's Going To Be Alright.
Well, it turned out that it was!
HAVE A GREAT SUMMER, EVERYONE
HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL BACK AT EXTON!

2020-2021 STAFFING & CLASS ASSIGNMENTS
STAFFING - I forgot to add in the last newsletter that Ms. Mileeta Baxter will return from leave and will be rejoining the Kindergarten team. Cassie Brower will move from Kindergarten to first grade as there will be five sections due to student numbers.
CLASS ASSIGNMENTS - Teachers are finishing groupings for next year's classes. This does not include teacher assignment. At the request of Dr. Scanlon, we have made sure that students are grouped or paired with others being redistricted to the same school (East Goshen or Fernhill). These groupings/pairings will be shared with those schools so students can transition together & placed in classes together in '21-'22. As a reminder, we do not take requests for specific teachers. I would ask that you trust the process.
MOVING UP DAY
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Do you need to register your child for school? Please do so sooner than later.
Parents complete registration online https://www.wcasd.net/Page/12419.
Parents can upload documents by scanning them or taking a picture of document and uploading to the registration portal. If parents are unable to do that, parents should email the documents to Terry Spranger (TSpranger@wcasd.net). She can upload the documents in the system if parents are unable to upload them directly online. After completion of information and uploads on the district web site, please email Mrs. Spranger to complete your registration virtually.
When school resumes, parents will need to provide the hard copy documentation.
