ADMINISTRATION UPDATE
Dear CCS Families and Community Members,
We have been very happy to have our 7th and 8th grade students back for four days of in-person learning! Being a full year out from our dismissal last spring, the timing of having all grades back feels very significant and hopeful.
Spring Forward!
This weekend brings the practice of moving clocks forward one hour with the intention of “saving” or making better use of daylight. The spring-like weather this week and the promise of longer daylight has offered a palpable surge of positivity throughout the building!
It is at this time in the school year that we begin to design and articulate plans for the next school year. We know that family-teacher conferences bring questions about class placements, and this year includes many questions about forecasting what next year will look like. Over the next several weeks, we will be sharing as much information with you as possible regarding teaching teams and student placement. We are launching into this process with the intention of planning for a more typical school year. We also know that there may still be some Covid protocols in place that shape how we do business. Please stay tuned for upcoming information about class placement, including opportunities related to Kindergarten registration information.
We have enjoyed the Spring weather this week, including the challenges and (very wet) opportunities it presented on the playground! It is a good idea for students in all grades to bring spare shoes, socks and perhaps even pants with them to school each day.
We wish you all a wonderful weekend!
Stephanie, Jen and Cassandra

TRAFFIC AT PICKUP ON HINESBURG ROAD
We have had several communications this week asking us to address traffic safety concerns during afternoon pickup at the main entrance. We know that it’s not an ideal traffic pattern, but it’s also the only one we have! When picking up your children, while you’re waiting to enter our driveways, please do your best to allow room for traffic. Also, please make sure you are exercising due caution when exiting onto Hinesburg Road in front of the school, as there have been many instances where cars have almost been struck.
