Sunday and Every Day: Taking it Home

Last Sunday was MLK Sunday. Classes learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. and about the Civil Rights Movement.

Discuss it at home:

  • What do you most admire about Martin Luther King, Jr.? Who else was involved in the Civil Rights movement that you admire, and why?
  • Do you know anyone who was involved in the Civil Rights Movement? Was anyone in your family involved? Do you know their stories?
  • What social justice movements are we called to be part of today? What do you do for justice, freedom, and equality?

Spiritual Practice:

This week, intentionally take one action, no matter how small, to seek greater justice in this world. Can't think of anything? You can always just mail a postcard to an elected official, or make a donation to a worthy organization doing the work of justice. Or you can be creative!

Planning Ahead: Sunday February 3rd

This Sunday will be Family Chapel, starting in the classroom wing right at 11:00. Please come straight back for class or for chapel instead of starting in the sanctuary. Family Chapel is intended for families to all attend together, but if adults can't or wish to attend the adult worship instead, unaccompanied children are welcome as well.
