Early Release & Conferences
Early Release conferences are fast approaching. Dyer students will be dismissed at 12:15 pm on Wednesday, February 24th and Thursday, February 25th . Please be sure to note these important schedule changes.
The purpose of a parent-teacher conference is to discuss student achievement and progress. Each parent-teacher conference will last for a period of twenty minutes, and both parents are urged to attend. Please be prompt as these conferences are scheduled consecutively. If a situation arises and you are unable to attend your scheduled conference, please notify the teacher so the conference can be rescheduled.
To schedule your conferences this year, simply go to our school’s website (https://www.ptcfast.com/schools/Dyer_Elementary_School_3) and click on “Conferences.” There you will be able to see all teachers’ schedules and sign up for a time that best suits your schedule. Computers will be available at Dyer for you to sign-up there as well. The ability to sign up for a conference online will close on Friday, February 19th at 11:59 pm. Please contact the teacher directly to sign up after the close of online scheduling.
We look forward to seeing you during conference week.
Dyer Celebrates School Counselors Week
Next week Dyer will celebrate School Counselors Week. Our school counselor, Mrs. Dawn Garner, works tirelessly to support our students, families and staff. Many people think that school counselors help students with emotional issues or family troubles. While that is part of what Mrs. Garner does each day, it represents just a small portion of her daily responsibilities. Each morning, Ms. Garner arrives full of energy, and focused on helping students, parents, and teachers to ensure that our students are prepared to reach their highest levels of achievement. A sampling of Mrs. Garner’s day may include meeting with small groups to work on organizational and study skills, meeting with individuals to help students make smarter decisions, or leading whole class discussions. In addition, she works to promote safety, improve attendance, and lends her support and expertise during times of crisis. The list truly goes on, and on! We are very fortunate to have Mrs. Garner here at Dyer, and we appreciate all she does for our students, staff and community! If you feel the same, we encourage you to reach out to her next week and let her know!
The feelin' groovy Book Fair is Coming!
Please see the flyer below for more information.
Our book fair cannot be groovy without some fabulous volunteers. It is always fun to work with our students as they look for fantastic books to read.

Thank you for your continued support of Dyer and our PTA!
Dyer Fun Run is Coming!
Parents! This year’s main fundraiser is the Dyer Fun Run! It’ll be a 9-day program where we kick off with a Pep Rally on Wednesday, February 3rd, families will have time to get pledges for every lap your student runs, and then we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on Friday, February 12th. With our big goal to raise funds for a playground shade structure, we asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it more profitable, easier, and fun. Students will also experience an amazing character theme, Big World Recess! It’s a global fitness theme all about playing with character. Donations will go toward a playground shade structure and to the entire 9-day experience. So please help our school by reaching out to sponsors. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run on 2/12! If you are interested in volunteering during the fun run, you can sign up here. Thank you for your support!
