Social Media is just GREAT!!

Social Media was the greatest discovery ever!! Who knew, that something of this creation could have such a huge impact on our society. Better Yet! Who knew that this discovery could change the way of marketing FOREVER? To answer your question, I don’t think anyone knew its capabilities, but we do now!

According to Laurel Demoss', How Social Media has changed the Dynamics of Marketing “The introduction of New Media, specifically social media, has changed the world of marketing and how business professionals communicate with and market to consumers. Consumers are no longer passive, and there is a new expectation of quick gratification when it comes to searching, finding, and having information. Traditional methods of marketing (print, tv, radio, etc.), although not irrelevant, are no longer enough. The game has changed and marketers have had to adapt to the new way people are now communicating, connecting, and consuming information.”

Social Media has changed the dynamics of marketing. With Social Media, we as business professionals are now able to reach and communicate with our consumers in ways that were not possible over a decade ago. With Social Media, we have more of a direct method of marketing. We can communicate with our consumers, and see what their thoughts, concerns, and reactions are to whatever it is that your company is promoting.

Dove, is a beauty company with products such as lotions, hair products, body washes etc. “ Dove has a vision of a world where beauty is a source of confidence, and not anxiety (Dove, 2015).” With that being said, Dove utilized social media marketing when promoting their company’s beauty campaigns. Which include, The Dove Real Beauty Sketches, and Dove Evolution. These campaigns were posted online on a social networking page and went viral. With this video going viral, many people, mostly women related to the video. This helped the brand in such a huge way.
