Causes: Farming practices. Littering. Filling landfills.
Effects: Limits natural resources that rely on soil. Introduces harmful substances into the foods we eat that come from the ground.

Water Pollution
Causes: Runoff, sewage, and dumping chemicals in bodies of water.
Effects: Kills marine life (organisms that live in water). Endangers sources of drinking water for living things.

Rewnewable and Nonrenewable Resources
Renewable Resources: Resources that come from nature and can be replaced.
Nonrenewable Resources: Resources that are gone forever once we have used them up.
