Paul Klee
Klee was born in Münchenbuchsee, Switzerland, on December 18, 1879. Klee's father was a music teacher and pushed him to be a violinist by age 11 he was very talented but by the time he was a teenager his attention turned to the visual arts. In 1898, he began studying at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich. He was very influenced by surrealism, cubism and expressionism.
City Paintings
The fifth grade students learned about Klee and looked at range of his paintings observing his style and color schemes. Then they made their own cityscapes focusing on using basic shapes and developing their own color scheme. They worked with watercolors and sharpies.
