Cheetah Connection
A PRINCIPAL UPDATE FOR OUR CHANDLER FAMILIES
October 29, 2021
Cheetah Family,
We have had a wonderful time celebrating Red Ribbon Week. Students went above and beyond with some really neat Storybook Characters today! Please keep in mind as the weather is cooling down, we need all students to have their first and last names written on their sweaters or jackets in the event they get lost. I hope you all have a wonderful and restful weekend! Thank you for sharing your children with us!
Respectfully,
Bobbie Allen

Father/Daughter Ball- Saturday, Dec. 4, 2021
We've gone Hollywood! The cameras are flashing, the stars are out and we've rolled out the red carpet for our 21st Annual Father Daughter Ball. Join us for a fun evening including dancing, light refreshments, pictures, and prizes. New this year, we will have three dances. Since we couldn't hold them last year, this year's dances are open to all girls up to and including those in seventh grade.
Twilight Dance 4:30-5:30 pm KG and under
Evening Dance One 6:00-7:30 pm Gr 1-3
Evening Dance Two 8:30-10:00 pm Gr 4-7
The ages and grades are recommendations only; however, the dance format and music selections will be geared towards the targeted age group. Registration is limited this year and is held on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are dance specific. Cancellations will be accepted and a refund will be issued as long as the cancellation is received by noon on Nov. 29, 2021. New this year, each person attending must buy a ticket; we no longer offer "Couple Tickets”. If you have questions please call or email Sandra Lovesey at 972-727-0502 or sandra.lovesey@allenisd.org.
Lunch Visitors
- Parents are welcome to eat lunch with their own children in a designated area.
We do have specific days in which we ask for no lunch visitors.
We also do not allow parents to join their students for lunch on state testing days.
When you arrive for lunch, you will need to sign in with the receptionist and then proceed to the MPR (multi-purpose room)
For security purposes and to avoid hurt feelings of other students, only your own children will be allowed to sit with you.
You are welcome to bring in an outside meal for your student and/or yourself only.
If purchasing a tray, please have your child order your meal at the beginning of the day in order to have enough food prepared.
We will have expectations that need to be followed, and at no time will lunch visitors be allowed to go in the cafeteria.

Scoliosis Screenings
In compliance with Texas Health and Safety Code, Chapter 37, all fifth-grade girls will be screened for abnormal spinal curvature. This screening will be scheduled in the next few weeks. More information will be sent home before screenings are performed. If you have any questions, please contact Nurse Joseph.
Don’t Forget!
Some of our younger students occasionally have restroom accidents and they need to change clothes. Please remember to send a complete change of clothes (shirt, pants/shorts, underwear and socks) in their backpack for those times, so students can change and quickly get back to class. Thanks for your help!
Counseling Connection
Congratulations to our recent Cheetah Champions!
Each Nine Weeks, we have a Chandler tradition of honoring students who are leaders in the classroom, take extra effort on their studies, are helpful to and respectful of peers and teachers, and generally go the extra mile to make a difference on campus in some way. We held our Cheetah Champion Breakfast for these students and their parents this past week and want to share their names with our Cheetah Family! Special thanks to our awesome PTA for providing breakfast!
