The Real Florida

Explore the Heart of Florida

Day 1: Everglades National Park

Begin your Florida journey in the Everglades National Park where you can do so many things! From hiking to kayaking, you can tell this is an exciting habitat. Being one of the oldest national parks ever, established in 1847, the park rangers are very experienced. Looking at the large swamps is one of my favorite things to do there.

There is a lot of natural beauty there, such as alligators, endangered species, such as the Florida panther, and much more.

Day 2: Florida Holocaust Museum

Go to the Holocaust Museum in Miami Beach, and learn about the tragic events that happened in the Holocaust. This museum is dedicated to those who lost their lives, and those who survived the war. You can take tours, explore the exhibits, and hear stories of those who lived through it. There is information about Jewish-American Culture. The time period of the Holocaust was from 1939 to the late 1940's.

Day 3: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum

Start your day at the historical Jupiter Lighthouse, in Jupiter, Florida! This landmark was construction in 1860. You can take tours, climb the lighthouse, and learn about the Seminole Tribe. You can also learn about the history of the lighthouse in its museum.

Boston's on the Beach

End your day with a cool beverage, overlooking the sunset of the Atlantic Ocean. Boston's on the Beach has been serving fresh seafood for the past 32 years. From lobsters to clams, burgers and fries, there is always something on the menu for everyone. After dinner, you can enjoy the view of boats passing, and waves splashing.

Day 4: The Breakers Hotel

The Breakers Hotel is another one of the magnificent hotels in Florida. It was founded by Henry Flagler, whose family were rich from the oil business. He built rail roads so that people could come to the east coast of Florida. Also, in 1903-4 he built a magnificent hotel called the Breakers! The Breakers is 140 acres of oceanfront property in Palm Beach, and has unique and beautiful furniture. There are also championship golf coarses there too.

Day 5: The Rapids Water Park

Spend your final day at the Rapids Water Park, and splash around! This water park is the largest water park in South Florida, and has a ride for everyone. If you're one who is not quite the daredevil, don't worry, there's a lazy river. But if you are a daredevil, then go on Black Thunder. Don't forget to grab your bathing suits and put on your sunscreen!
