Dear Lincoln, Logan & McPherson County 4-H Families,

I encourage youth age 14-18 to consider applying to be a local teen facilitator for the 2023 Ag Innovator Experience. Go to https://4h.unl.edu/ag-innovators-experience to learn more.
Applications are due March 1st.

Another great opportunity coming up is the speech contests. Logan/McPherson will host their contest on March 26th and Lincoln County will host their contest on April 30th. Public speaking is a great life skill to develop. I encourage you to step outside your comfort zone and give it a try this year! Spotlight on 4-H Club Leaders/Volunteers
*Once a month we are going to spotlight one of our club leaders or volunteers right here to show off how much we care about everything they do for 4-H.*
*Be on the lookout in your emails for a short questionnaire to fill out so we can showcase you*
Cassie Sundstrom- New Adventures Club Leader
When were you in 4-H and what did you participate in?
- I started 4-H when i was 8 years old. I participated in swine, cattle, horses, leather work, hippology, horse judging, horse bowl, livestock judging, speech and goats.. We were raised 10 miles North of Cozad. I was apart of the Knight Riders and Boots and Spurs 4-H club. We had amazing coaches/ leaders and mentors who made us very successful in 4-H.. My goal is to mentor and teach to grow knowledge and the love for their projects.
What did 4-H teach you that you still use today?
- integrity, staying positive, responsibility and hard work. A persons attitude also plays a huge role in their success.
What would you tell someone that might be on the fence about joining 4-H?
- Absolutely join! What I have seen it do for my daughter is absolutely amazing! She is more confident, loves to try new things, has met new friends, gained life skills and responsibility. The 4-H pledge means so much and its great for youth to become involved. We have been blessed to help guide others and also have had others help guide us. My son showed rabbit last year and I had no clue what to do, but a great friend and 4-H member helped guide and teach him. Its honestly a family experience we all learn and work together to reach the GOALS!
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
- I honestly would just stay home! Our animals are here, there's always work to be done and well I really just love being home! We are fortunate enough to have a property where we all can go to the river, trail ride, or go fishing.
If you had 1 million dollars what would you do with it?
- INVEST IT, college accounts for Cash and Adelyn! Maybe even a pig barn!
