No Unlawful Search

Fighting for student rights

Why this topic?

Freedom and privacy are two important things that should be held and understood. I also think students should be safe against unlawful search and seizure. This issue is very embarrassing and wrong. Besides, what you are searching for isn't always there.

The Fourth Amendment

The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

Doesn't This Violate the Fourth Amendment?

In my opinion, this does violate the fourth amendment because the fourth amendment states that you should be protected against unreasonable searches and seizures. But, a school has the rightness to tell you dump out your backpack, you better! How is this unfair rule truly American?

Do you think Unlawful Searches at school are right?

Kylie: Yes, because we don't want anyone to get hurt

Anonymous: Yes and No, but the parents or guardian should be there

Maggie: No because we have the right to protect our things and they should no be searching your stuff if they don't have proof.

Other Opinions

Some people oppose this right and think that there could be a gun in students bags. But, kids need to feel comfortable in schools and have privacy. Maybe then, they will not feel the need to bring these intense weapons.

Students Need Privacy!
