New to the Freeland Learning Center Orientation Night
Although children are welcome to attend, this informational event is really intended for parents and will last approximately one hour. It will include a presentation about key information to help you better understand what to expect as a new parent at the Learning Center, as well as what your child’s days will look like. Some of the topics to be discussed include, pick-up/drop-off procedures, lunch visits, lunch/breakfast routines, transportation, absence reporting, volunteering, etc. There will also be an opportunity to get answers to any questions or concerns you may have. Please note, there will not be any teachers present and classrooms will not be open to tour.

Classroom Placements - Available in Skyward in August
We understand how important it is that we consider many factors when placing all students in their classrooms. We try to consider the following criteria when placements are done:
- Student program needs (for example: special education services, 504 plans etc.)
- Classroom configuration
- Social needs of students
- Compatibility of individual students and groups of students
- Behavioral factors
- Balance of achievement levels
- Information/Input provided by parent/guardians and teachers
- Balance of class sizes throughout the grade level
The process for student placement is a very careful process and one that takes a great deal of time and consideration. We want our students and teachers to have the most successful school year and one way we can try to support that is by creating well balanced classrooms.
Each of our Freeland Learning Center staff are amazing individuals who on a daily basis go above and beyond expectations to give your child the best learning environment possible. We look forward to a wonderful school year with your child!
Please note that requests for a specific teacher are considered, however, are not guaranteed. Once assigned, class placements will not change.
Placement will be available to access on your parent portal in Skyward by August 18, an email will be sent when these are available, if it is earlier.
