Principal's Message

It's hard to believe we are already headed into November. We are so proud of our students for all of the progress they are making despite these challenging times. We appreciate everyone's help and cooperation in keeping our schools safe from COVID-19. Please continue to fill out the AUXS application each morning that your child comes to school. November is one of my favorite months at Ashbrook as we begin to look inward and practice gratitude for all the wonderful things in our lives. As we move into the colder months it is nice to spend time thinking about what we are grateful for.

Virtual Halloween Parade: Please don't forget to participate in our virtual Halloween Parade and costume contest. We want to see your costumes! One winner will be chosen from each grade level to win a Barnes and Noble Gift Card! Enter here.

Remote Learning Tip: Having a student work remotely from the same space every day helps create consistency and reinforce that when they are in that space, it is time to focus and learn. As much as possible, it is important to create a designated "learning" space in your home whether that be the kitchen table, or a particular room in the home.

Fall Conferences

Our teachers are in the process of setting up our annual fall conferences to update you on your child’s progress. Thus far, we are very happy with how things have gone with our remote and hybrid schedules this year. Instead of live conferences scheduled on certain dates, the teachers will be setting up their own conference dates and times which will happen either through Zoom/Google Meet or on the phone. Your child’s teacher will be in touch to set up a time to meet by mid-December.

PTA Holiday Drive

The Lumberton PTA's annual Holiday Drive will be starting on Monday, November 9th. This program helps to provide children in our community that are less fortunate with coats, clothes, food, and gifts from each child’s specific wish list. In 2019, we were able to help 55 Lumberton children from 24 different families; this could not have been done without your continued support. Please look for an email with more details and a flyer with your homeroom's sponsored child coming soon.
