Big THANK YOU to GJSHS Boosters and Wild Hare Signs for Supporting GJSHS Seniors!

Ms. Cockerill delivered over 25 hotspots to students at GES and GJSHS. These hotspots were a donation to PUSD from DevicesforStudents, a non-profit whose co-founder is a Quincy High graduate. This has helped more of our students to be able to participate in online distance learning opportunities and to connect with their teachers.

A note from Mrs. Satterfield--GES Librarian

Thursdays should be Library Day, but none of us can get there right now! I hope the Mountain Lion and the Golden Eagle are keeping an eye on our books. I also hope that you are healthy and READING everyday!

1 .Maybe some of you have found the books you checked out before all of this-read them again NOW.

2. We are working with the Plumas County Library to get you each a FREE Book TO KEEP in your next packet.

3. I also want to let you know about free books to read and be read to you on the internet since all libraries are closed right now. Go to the Plumas County Library website ( on your computer to find lists of books of all kinds, virtual field trips, and even movies through Kanopy. To" checkout" some of these you need a library card, but for many further down the page you do not even need a card. The site tells you how to get a virtual Plumas County Library card by email so you would have access to all the library's e-books to download through the Overdrive App. as well.

4. We can also get a digital library card for Washoe County Libraries In Reno while libraries are closed. You do not have to live in Reno to get this card but you need a parent's mobile phone to get the library card number and passcode to get access to all their books AND Washoe County Library Virtual Storytimes on Facebook twice a day at 11:00am and 4:00pm. I have enjoyed librarians reading fun books to me!

5. Both County Libraries have a link to Tumblebooks where you can choose full length, illustrated picture books, chapter books, Graphic Novels,or non-fiction books to read online. Plumas County has a login for us as Login is Tumble735 with password- books. No library card needed.

So...... EVERY DAY IS LIBRARY DAY. Keep reading!

I miss you all--- Mrs. Satterfield

Google Calendar, Gmail, and Classroom, Oh My!

The focus of the 1:1 Laptop/Chromebook Program in PUSD is to prepare students for their futures in a world of digital technology and information. Every student has a gmail account. Our students are very familiar with this and use it to log into their devices. During this time of distance learning, students should be checking their google calendars, gmail (email), and google classroom DAILY. These are the primary ways that some teachers are communicating with students, sending, and collecting online work. It's very simple--just have your child log into his/her account and click on the icons like those pictured above.

About Us

Greenville Elementary School and Greenville Junior/Senior High School are in beautiful western Plumas County. We serve the students of Indian Valley, which includes the communities of Greenville, Crescent Mills, Taylorsville, and Canyon Dam. We are essentially a K-12 school since we are located on one large campus where we share several facilities.
