TECH TIP OF THE WEEK
Check out the Texting Story app....https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/textingstory-write-chat-stories-save-as-video/id1083676922?mt=8
You can have students create a text conversations (based upon characters in a book for example). Karen Kreck, Karen Morvay and I saw it in action and it's really cool!
Words of Wisdom
Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.
~ Abraham Lincoln
With something to think about . . .Most of us have the character to stand against adversity. We understand the importance of being caring, honest, and respectful. We know when to ask for help. And if we are being mature, we understand the importance of considering multiple perspectives. But how do we handle the power we have in the classroom? How is our character tested there? Today, stop and ask yourself this: As an adult with power over his or her students, am I modeling what it means to be a person in power who is fair, honest, compassionate, and good? If yes, keep doing what you are doing. If no, it may be time to acquire some new skills.
Remember to take care of yourself.
We have quite a bit of autonomy in our classrooms, but sometimes it's exhausting to be the decision maker and leader. Spend a day taking care of yourself, whether that's at a spa, or in a park, or in bed.
Happy Birthday!
