COVID Update from the Superintendent
As you are likely aware, the region is seeing an uptick in new COVID cases. We are experiencing some of those trends here at school as well. We’re continuing to focus on flexibility, choice wherever possible and making reasonable targeted adjustments as needed. The District will be distributing COVID test kits to families via students again on Friday, April 8, 2022.

HF-L Oversimplified - Tax Cap
HF-L is excited to announce a new video series entitled HF-L Oversimplified where we oversimplify elements of the school budget to help our community better understand how the District is funded.
Do you know what a tax cap is? Let’s talk about that!
HF-L Arts Enrichment Corporation presents "Frozen Kids", on April 6th and April 7th in High School Auditorium at 7:00 pm. Tickets are available at the door for $5.00. The show features HF-L 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. Kudos to student director, Mike Ruff on creating the poster for the production!
LEGO Robotics Beginners for Grades 3-5
LEGO Robotics Beginners for Grades 3-5. Class begins April 12 and runs Tuesday/Thursday 3:00 -4:00 through May 12. This class will introduce students to the basics of robotics and programming concepts. Working in pairs, students will use a LEGO Mindstorms education kit to learn how to program it to move and react to its environment using the Lab VIEW-based visual programming language, EV3-G.
Concepts taught and reinforced include programming skills, teamwork, communication, problem solving, critical thinking, perseverance, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

HF-L PTA Staff Shout Out
Help celebrate Honeoye Falls-Lima School District staff! The PTA is collecting compliments and kind thoughts from the school community for our "STAFF SHOUT OUTS" bulletin boards. Please share words of appreciation and gratitude for our district staff. Love something happening in your child's class right now? Had a positive encounter with an administrator, teacher, aide, grounds keeper, janitor or cook? Let us know!
Examples of SHOUT OUT worthy acts include:

Register for Summer Rec
Summer Rec registration is now open for student campers. Summer Rec is a partnership with Honeoye Falls, Mendon, Lima, and Community Programs that offers a wide variety of activities. Campers are grouped by grade level with activities based on the group's age. Registration is available online at:
Alumni Hall of Fame Seeking Nominations
HF-L Partners with Paper Tutoring Service
The Honeoye Falls-Lima Central School District is happy to announce its partnership with Paper, a digital tutoring service. This service is available to all HF-L students in grades 4-12 and will provide free, unlimited access to virtual tutoring sessions. These sessions are 1:1 and are available 24 hours a day. Students can access this using their ClassLink portal.
Using Paper, students get homework help, writing feedback, and study support on demand. Teachers gain insights into learning gaps. Administrators have visibility into where support is needed.
UPDATE: Paper is now offering live parent webinars. They are every 2 weeks in English and Spanish. 45 mins, parents sign up through that page and they will receive a Zoom link by email. https://pages.paper.co/webinars-for-parents-and-guardians
