We had a very busy week last week!! Iready diagnostic testing is complete and now we must move on to bigger and better things! We begin classroom routines, curriculum, and instructional framework this week. I will be introducing the Read2Write program. Please make sure you are checking out my website for updates on this program - it is very important! I will have everything you need to know updated by Tuesday morning.
Shout out to Anna Wells for finding 50 dollars in the cafeteria and turning it in to Mr. Chambers! Way to represent- Animo!!!
We begin our unit on Heroes and will studying our standards through many wonderful texts. I am excited about having laptops in my classroom and using them to enrich my ELA curriculum. Blended learning will be a huge part of our studies this year.
I will be setting my students up in Edmodo and talking to them about how to access this program. Please ask them about this over the next week. I will begin placing important documents, assignments, flipped videos, and much more in here for them to access.
I hope you all have a wonderful week!!!
Love,
Ms. Heim
Ms. Vanus 7A Math
Dear Parents,
What a great first week we had in 7A Math! It was great meeting the families that were present at the open house and I look forward to meeting the ones who could not make it. In class we spent Monday through most of Thursday doing the I-Ready diagnostic testing. I-Ready highers and lowers the difficulty of questions as students get them right and wrong so we can find exactly what level they are at. It is very important to me that each student is getting the help that they specifically need and reaching their full potential. I-Ready helps make that possible. We ended the week on Friday reviewing how to place numbers on the number line, which will help us this week.
This week will be the first week of 7th grade instruction. We will be learning about adding and subtracting negative numbers. Our first CFA will be this week on Wednesday, which will be the students first grade on the books for the year! Lots of firsts this week with lots of potential to grow. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me.
Have a great week!

I have attached the form below.
