Message from the Principal

Dearest Mason Families,

What a week filled with excitement, learning, laughter, and joy! Congratulations to all of our dear Y5 and Kindergarten families who joined us for the celebration of their student as we near the end of the school year! A shoutout goes to Ms. Tyler, Ms. Ostrowski, Ms. Cole, Ms. Scheich, Mr. Bubeck, and Mr. Verneir who made this day possible!

Additionally, a shoutout goes to our wonderful PTO for sponsoring the Color/Fun Run today! A special recognition goes out to Ms. Ali Sledz for leading this amazing event and making it a success! We sincerely appreciate all of the volunteers who came out to support the team, along with Mr. Barnes who has now volunteered his time twice to be our DJ, thank you! Mr. Bubeck, our building engineer, and Ms. Lyons, our building secretary, we truly thank as well for all of their efforts in helping prepare for the event! The weather cooperated and we were able to have our dear students enjoy the run, and have so many of you families join us to cheer them on! Thank you!

As we look ahead to next week kindly see the below reminders!

* 4th grade students will be visiting Parcells Middle on Thursday, June 2nd to prepare them for the transition to 5th grade. Please refer to the teacher newsletters for more information.

* The Movie Night has been rescheduled by the PTO for next Friday, June 3rd at 7 p.m. on the Mason blacktop! The featured movie is Sing 2, which is PG. Students can join us with their family on the blacktop at Mason. Please bring your own chair(s) or a blanket to sit on, and feel free to refer to the flyer below in the newsletter!

Kindly know that in honor of our brave heroes there will be no school on Monday, May 30, 2022. School will resume on Tuesday, May 31 as usual. I wish you all a Happy Memorial Day as we truly honor each and every hero who has served our wonderful country, the United States of America! I hope you enjoy the extended weekend with your student and loved ones! If you need anything, know we are here to support you and as always... Teamwork it is! Together we learn, together we lift, and together we lead! One Mason, One Family, One Team!

How to Upload Student Vaccine Records

Parents and guardians can upload their student's COVID vaccine card using the MiStar Parent Portal by following the directions linked here. According to quarantine guidelines from the Wayne County Health Department, any student who is fully vaccinated will not be required to quarantine if they are identified as a close contact to a COVID positive individual. Uploading your student’s vaccine card will help the district quickly identify those students who will not be required to quarantine. Thank you!
