Third Grade: Being Assertive - Being assertive means asking for what you want or need in a calm and firm voice. Being assertive is a respectful way to get what you want or need.

SAEBRS Screening
Representatives from the University of Missouri are once again partnering with our school to help us with some of our kids that are struggling socially, academically, and/or behaviorally. They will spend a brief period of time with us on October 9 to discuss results.
Therefore, they must have all data prior to October 2. This will take a little bit of time to work through your students, but hopefully the benefits in the end of identifying students for additional help will pay off. Thank you so much for taking time to do this. If you have any trouble accessing the link below, please let Leigh Anne know. Thanks!

Instructional Compass: Guiding Learning Tips/Points
Instructional Compass
A huge shout out to our 3rd grade team for making some awesome data walls in their classrooms to show student growth. The students are excited about setting goals and working hard to reach them!
When students set their own goals, they take responsibility and ownership of their learning. Setting goals can be especially important for students with low achievement motivation. It gives them something to work for. Having sharp, clearly defined goals, which students can measure, will allow them to take pride in accomplishing those goals.
Show this video to your class to get your students motivated to set some goals for themselves!!
I have created a Google Folder with resources for students to set goals. If you have an awesome goal sheet and would like to share, please upload to the appropriate folder. If you want to use one, either print or “make a copy”. If you need help with this let me know.
