Lesson 13: Totals Greater than 10
- Use strategies including counting on, doubles, doubles plus 1, and make a ten to solve addition problems.
- Recognize different ways that addends can be decomposed and composed.
- Write addition equations for double and doubles plus one facts.
- Use properties to write a double plus one expression (3 addends) as an expression with 2 addends.

**Students will independently read the passage. Questions and Answer choices about the passage will be read aloud to students.**
This weeks special learning topic:
Balloons Over Broadway, is about the man Tony Sarg– who invented the puppets that the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade displays each year.
Important Reminders:
- Tardy bell rings at 7:45.
- Place all money in the zippered pouch in the blue communication folder.
- Transportation must stay consistent unless an emergency arises.
- Red Accelerated Reader - AR folders are complete and are going home every day after school. Please send them back the next day. There is a place for parent initials inside. This lets me know who is ready to AR test and who is not. It is the child's responsibility to test in class. They get the chance to test 3 separate times in the day.
- Blue Communication folders - These folders will come home nightly. Please check the front pocket for any important papers that need to be returned or any homework to be completed. Please remove all papers from the keep-at-home pocket nightly.
- Tuesday Folders- Sign and return this folder on Wednesday.
Fun Friday
After recess every day students work on I-Ready reading + math until it is time to pack up and go home. Students must have atleast 30 minutes in math and reading with passed lessons in order to have fun Friday ( After recess students can play academic learning games Epic, Prodigy, Boddle, Starfall ect. ) if students do not have their minutes and passed lessons they must complete them during this time.
Classroom rewards
- Student earn tickets every single day by following directions, doing their homework, being a kind friend ect.
- Every day right before dismissal if students have earned 10 tickets they can choose a class coupon or something out of the treasure box.
- We have a star jar- this is a whole group reward and the goal is to fill the entire jar with stars ( getting a compliment in the hallway, good report from special area teachers, everyone following directions ect.) if the jar is filled the entire class earns something special ( Donut Friday, lunch in the classroom on Friday, extra recess ect.)
