Monroe Catholic Elementary Schools News - February 2019
Dear MCES Families,
School schedules also tend to be the same; having missed out on a full week of instruction, the teachers feel a similar unknown- will they get through all the content they want to? What unknown activity will pop up to throw off another daily schedule? In our staff meeting yesterday, we talked about all the upcoming events. Though there are many: Catholic Schools Week, food drives, the Open House, the Auction, Field Trips, etc; these events are what make MCES a special community! They are all part of the experience of Catholic School. I recall many of these traditions from my time as a student at St. Michael and SMCC. In these events, we are learning to grow as a school community; not only are we tasked with academic development, but also social and spiritual development.
Today I challenge everyone to take part in as many of these events as possible. Though we all have busy schedules, in Matthew 18:20, Jesus says that where two are gathered in his name, he is there also. How great is it that Jesus walks this journey with us? I am looking forward to all the fellowship and community that will take place at Open House on February 24 and Auction on March 16. We are 1 Faith, 1 School and 1 Community, and by inviting new families to the Open House and participating in the Auction, we can only become stronger!
Ancora Imparo.
Mr. Kubik
Open House Help Needed!
As we begin planning our MCES Open House, there are several ways you can help us with the 2019 Open House!
First and foremost (and simplest!), invite your friends and family! Personal invitations go a long way and MCES only becomes stronger when we have more people like you! Please encourage people you know- who are curious about Catholic Education- to come to the MCES Open House or to schedule a private tour and shadow day. Just simply direct them to the school offices for any questions they have or if they want more information. The Flyer for Open House can be found here.
Secondly, we are in need of Parent Ambassadors! Would you be willing to come to Open House at St. Michael Campus and show a prospective family around while sharing your personal MCES experiences? As many of you remember, starting at a school can be a daunting and unknown process, and we would like to have those who have experienced childcare, preschool and starting Young 5s/ Kindergarten with us, on hand to share their point of view. If you are willing to serve as a Parent Ambassador at St. Michael Campus on February 24th from 11:30-1:30, please let Mr. Kubik know by responding to this email.
Lastly, would you be willing to write or record a personal testimony about your experiences at MCES? This could be as simple as jotting down a few sentences about you and your child(ren)'s learning, playing and growing at MCES. These anecdotes may be used in marketing materials in the future. If you'd rather be part of a video testimony, that would be great too! We'd love to hear your experiences; please send them to this email!
As a Catholic School Community, we rely greatly on our families to share their experiences and help grow our school. Thank you for your help in marketing MCES!
