The boston "misunderstanding"
A Brits perspective
In this article we will be talking to 3 British soldiers who were involved in the Boston massacre. Edward George smithson, 23, Thomas styles,32, and Louis Tomlinson, 29.
Each soldier will tell their part of the story. Will your opinion of the boston massacre stay the same?
Edward George Smithson
"So we were just doing our job, usual night standing around while meetings were happening in the court house, the lads and I never have any action, it's usually pretty boring what we do other that a few protesters here and there..."
Thomas Styles
"But tonight was different a group of young colonist folks, around 6 of them, started teasing us, we just did what we knew what to to: Stand and ignore. Suddenly they were making harsh comments about us and our country.. Not our government our sweet long lived Great Britain...."
Louis Tomlinson
"We had to stay strong and not let it irritate us..we were doing a pretty good job until they started to throw things at us..first papers and little things but then it moved on to rocked and bottles..and all this time the crowd was growing a little bigger. As we were requesting for back up, we suddenly heard a gun shot..that made everyone go crazy! We didn't know who fired it but I'm pretty sure it wasn't any of our men! Chaos was developing..we didn't know what to do, we had on,y been doing our jobs? Why criticize us for our reasonable choices? All I could think was that it wasn't going to end well...thankfully it came to a stop and everyone went away to tell their stories about their experience in the later to be called "boston massacre" didn't anyone want to hear our stories and our side? Now England is being criticized for everything we do...maybe they should get the full story before people judge?..
Get the story. Know the story.
Have you changed your mind?
As Louis clearly said "maybe people should get the full story before they judge", we think that now the British have had their side of the story published that maybe you sympathize a little? Did you know that the young men guarding the courthouse didn't want to fight at all? The brave men were only doing their job and shouldn't have been criticized for their countries choices!? Maybe next time you should dig a little deeper to get all of the treasure.
