Wolverine Bulletin
October 19, 2020
Wiederstein Families,
October 19, 2020 marks the beginning of the 2nd 9 Weeks and we will be welcoming more students back to On Campus Learning. Parents, I just want to say thank you for your continued support and understanding. Please know that our staff is committed to doing the best that we can through this difficult situation that is COVID-19.
Working together will ultimately be what helps our children continue to learn and grow.
Respectfully,
Luis Chavez, Principal
Parent Drop Off:
Parents, if you arrive after the gate has closed, please proceed to the front of the school. You MUST exit your vehicle and escort your child to the door for safety reasons. Call the front desk so that we can meet you at the door.
My child is switching from @ Home to On Campus Learning...What do I need to know?
Students MUST wear a Mask at all times except when eating lunch or breakfast.
No Visitors or Parents allowed in the Building at this time for safety reasons.
Parent Pick Up: We dismiss at 3:20 PM. Please make sure to pick up your child(ren) in a timely manner. We will begin to call parents who have not picked up their child(ren) at 3:45 PM.
Bus: We have only 4 buses this year picking up and returning our students daily for our campus. Beginning next week, we hope to be able to print the ZPass for our students. More information on how to activate your child's card and get notifications directly to your phone via text very soon.
Lunch: Please read the information (breakfast and lunch) being available for free to all students enrolled in our district until December. Children are still allowed to bring their own lunch from home if they wish to do so. Not food from the outside is allowed to be brought up to campus. (i.e. Sonic meal delivered to campus).
Letter sent by our district to our families on Friday, October 16, 2020
Dear Parents and Families,
As we finish the first nine weeks grading period and are quickly approaching the traditional “flu season”, we wanted to send a few reminders for everyone sending their students to on-campus instruction next week. Please remind your child(ren):
● To wear his/her mask at all times unless allowed to take it off for eating, athletics, etc. This is a major mitigating factor in close contact considerations, so encouraging your child to wear their mask unless otherwise instructed is very helpful.
● To wash and/or sanitize his/her hands often. As a reminder, hand sanitizer stations have been set up in common areas such as school entrances/exits, bathrooms, and cafeterias, as well as in classrooms. Students may also bring their own sanitizer from home if you feel your child can responsibly use it on his/her own.
● To maintain as much distance as possible from others. Six feet of distance may not always be feasible due to class sizes; however, teachers will do their best to help with distancing. Please remind your child(ren) to also leave space between him/herself and others when possible, such as when outside on the playground, in line, or boarding the bus, etc.
Our latest feedback from parents shows our on campus numbers for the second nine weeks grading period will be growing from around 53% to around 67%. Your help with these reminders to your child(ren) is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your continued support of our health and safety protocols!
Technology Devices:
If your child is continuing @Home (remote learning), then you are to hold on to your device.
