A Message from Grizzly Gratitude
Grizzly Gratitude community! Thank you to all who contributed to the pasta dinner for parent teacher conferences. Our staff works many long hours so it was nice to provide a hot meal for them:)
There were four lucky winners for the February Super Bowl Squares….congratulations to Mariclar Hall (Special Ed teacher), Kylene Hurley (Theater/Drama teacher), Greg Kane (Science teacher), Katie Quast (Counseling secretary). Each won a $25 gift card contributed by Grizzly Gratitude.
A ThunderRidge parent and Area Leader for 7-11, John Jackson, has generously offered to coordinate a coffee, donuts, and cookies delivery for the staff on March 30th. We are so grateful for his involvement in the ThunderRidge community and look forward to working together to show appreciation for the teachers and staff. Thank you, John, along with Vonley Starkey, the manager at the 7-11 Town Center and Santa Fe location!!
Looking ahead to April…the baseball season is just around the corner so to celebrate, GBBC will be sponsoring “Rockies Opening Day” on April 6 with a hot dog (and fixings) lunch for the TR staff! Thank you to all who donate and help with GBBC!!!
Watch for a sign up link next month…we’ll need lots of volunteers to help with the Cinco de Mayo lunch:)
Please reach out anytime if you have questions or would like to get involved. We welcome donations as well!

Summer Camps
IB Update
This last week has been a very busy week in the IB world. Starting last Friday, a number of the IB Diploma students from ThunderRidge went over to Roxborough Intermediate School to judge the PYP Exhibition. The PYP Exhibition involves 6th-grade students working collaboratively to conduct an in-depth inquiry into a real-life issue or problem that’s pertinent to them. This typically involves the use of a variety of source materials: first-hand experiences, interviews, research, surveys, field visits, etc. Having our Diploma Juniors and Seniors act as guest assessors for the 6th graders was a great experience for both sets of kids as they engaged in "real world" dialogue. Mr. Patterson, Mr. Risner, and Mrs. Lakeland also enjoyed the opportunity to go see all the amazing things being done at Roxborough.
This week saw the IB Diploma Seniors completing one of the major components of their Diploma candidacy as they complete their World Language Internal Oral Assessments. This is an opportunity for the students to show off their language skills in a unique and practical way. Students were given a set of images to engage with before they then engage in a graded conversation with their World Language teacher in that language. The students were generally nervous about their IO's, but they did great and the World Language teachers vocalized their happiness with the Seniors across the board.
Finally, we are excited to bid bon voyage to the IB students who are headed to Portugal on Friday 3/10. There are sure to be some exceptional pictures, memories, and unique life experiences to share upon their return!
