Better Lesson Kick-Off | August 31 | 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM
BetterLesson was founded by a group of teachers to connect educators and help them create, organize, and share their curricula. The BetterLesson team works with educators and instructional leaders to encourage growth, risk-taking, and reflection in their own practice, so that they can, in turn, use high-impact instructional strategies to develop the next generation of resourceful, compassionate, and resilient learners. This year F1S will continue our partnership with BetterLesson. Our kick-off session starts on Tuesday, August 31 at the McClenaghan Building in Room 301A. Each F1S school will get to select 1 representative to join the live session. Space is limited. Discuss with your building administrator if interested. Participants will be required to commit to weekly virtual meetings, learning walks, and workshops with their educational consultant to strengthen their own instructional practice.
(Must be invited by your building administrator to participate in this semester's event.)
SMART PD
All sessions will focus on using the interactive display, including the recent updates such as ink-to-text and the ability to give students simultaneous feedback during lessons directly from the Whiteboard app. All sessions will last 60 minutes and will take place virtually (over Zoom) as to not disrupt the regular school day.
Our second round of training sessions, "Review and learn what's new in iQ", is recommended for ALL HIGH SCHOOL teachers. These sessions will be focused on instructional best practices and ways to use the interactive display to enable student engagement, collaboration, and authentic assessment.
