Nuclear Fusion
Earth's Source of Energy
What is Nuclear Fusion?
Nuclear fusion is a reaction in which two or more atomic nuclei come very close and then collide at a very high speed and join to form a new nucleus.
Who discovered this?
Robert Atkinson and Fritz Houtermans used the measured masses of light elements to predict that large amounts of energy could be released by fusing small nuclei.
How does Nuclear Fusion affect us?
Nuclear Fusion has been considered for a renewable energy source. The sun will never run out so it will be a very reliable form of energy. It would cut down on fossil fuels and also be a lot less expensive since sunlight is so abundant.
