Aiming to Keep You Informed

From the Office
Today, we were fortunate to have a wonderful group of professionals join us for Career Day presentations to our 8th graders. We appreciate the insight and experiences they shared with our students. We encourage parents to hold discussions related to career options and to ask their child about the information they received from today's presentations. Thank you to all of the volunteers and Junior Achievement for such an awesome opportunity for our students!
Yesterday, the 7th graders visited Springfield while our 8th graders went on their end of year celebration trip to Chicago. The weather could not have been better! Please check out the photos below from both trips.

Summer Job Opportunity
Attention Parents of Current 8th Graders: Just a reminder about 9th grade high school physicals
The Illinois State Board of Education in conjunction with the Illinois Department of Public Health require that all students entering 9th grade show proof of receiving mandated vaccinations, in addition to receiving a physical exam, and a dental exam. Please make certain that your child receives the required immunizations and that they are recorded on his/her immunization record. These completed requirements (vaccinations, physical exam, and dental exam) will ensure that your student will be ready to start high school in the fall of 2019.
The physical examination must be recorded on the Illinois Certificate of Child Health Examination form and dated within one year of the first day of school attendance for the 2019-2020 school year. (This form may be used in lieu of a sports physical form, but a sports physical form may not be used for the 9th grade mandated physical!) Physicians have the mandated form in their offices.
Please be aware that physicians’ offices are often busy during the summer months; be certain to book your appointment early!
