Math - Students continued exploring addition and subtraction strategies. We had a great time graphing our Lucky Charm cereal for St. Patrick's Day. Our classroom store is still up and running! Students have a great time using coins to shop and play in our class store. Keep your Top Chefs exploring coins when your out and about. "This coin is a _____.
This is a Penny, it is worth ______ cents".
Literacy - Top Chefs continued with small group and whole class activities. I am assessing all students and preparing for the end of the nine weeks. We enjoyed listening to St. Patrick's Day stories and hearing about those silly leprechauns. We created sight word rainbows, which are hanging from our classroom lights. Top Chefs also decorated their own pots of gold showing reasons on gold coins what is lucky in their lives. Keep up with reading those sight words nightly :).
Content - We had a great time getting ready for Community Night, and building our Leprechaun Traps. In Guidance, The Top Chefs talked all about "You can be what you want to be". Please remind students to be kind everyday, and to follow our classroom promises...Be RESPECTABLE, Be RESPONSIBLE and Be SAFE.
