Aiken Electric Cooperative: Attention Juniors & Sophomores
Amount: $5,000 (scholarship if selected)
Aiken Electric Cooperative sponsors up to seven high school juniors on an all-expenses-paid trip to our nation’s capital. This week-long tour gives students a chance to see our government in action, experience the history of our nation and learn more about electric cooperatives. We also sponsor five students for the Cooperative Youth Summit for a four-day exploration of our state’s capital. The primary residence of the applicant must have an active account with Aiken Electric Cooperative, Inc.

Junior Achievement of Greater South Carolina in partnership with Lexington Technology Center’s Work-Based Learning will introduce girls to women mentors who work in STEM-related fields and show them the exciting possibilities for their future. Guided by the JA Reverse Job Shadowing curriculum, girls will investigate, ask questions, and be inspired to consider STEM for their future. The morning will feature keynote speakers, one being Ms. South Carolina, a pancake breakfast, and hands-on activities.

Every college-bound senior needs to complete the FREE Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). If you have not completed the FAFSA, The Educational Opportunity Center at Midlands Tech will help you. You do not have to be attending Midlands Tech to use this service.

- Picture ID
- Permanent Resident card (if eligible non-citizen)

Important Deadlines:
Clemson University
December 1 – Applicants who apply by this date will receive an admissions decision the week of February 15. Final deadline to apply for Fall admission is May 1.
College of Charleston
November 1- Early Decision Deadline – Students’ applications and all supporting documents – including transcripts and secondary school reports – must be submitted or postmarked by this date. Students should select the early decision option only if they have selected College of Charleston as their first choice and will not use scholarships and financial aid as a primary factor in their decision. Application materials for early decision candidates must be submitted by November 1. Decision letters are issued by early December 1.
University of Georgia
January 1 - First-year application Deadline.
University of South Carolina
October 15 - Early Application Answer Deadline – Students who submit complete applications and all required credentials by this date will hear from the admissions office by December 19. Answers may be acceptance, denial, or deferred decision until mid-March.

Students can apply through the Common Application, the Coalition Application or UofSC Application. All standardized test scores must be self-reported by February 1.
USC uses self-reported standardized test scores to make initial admission and scholarship decisions. Students can report their scores through their Admissions Portal after they apply.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union Scholarship

Two Touchstone Energy Scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded to 2019-2020 high school graduating seniors in the cooperative service area. - Resume containing the following: career goals; past or present employment; honors and awards you have received in extracurricular activities such as athletics, dramatics, clubs, community projects, etc.
- Summarized your FFA participation (limit to one page).
- Summarize your Supervised Agricultural Experience (limit to one page).

The SCEA-Retired Scholarship for Education
Amount: $1,000

The South Carolina Education Association-Retired administers scholarship is awarded annually and is designed to encourage promising young people to prepare for careers in education at a SACS accredited college, university, or two-year technical college in South Carolina.
Requirements for Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a senior graduating from a public high school in South Carolina.
- The applicant must plan to attend a SACS accredited college, university, technical school, or community college in South Carolina as a full-time student.
- The applicant must plan to pursue a career in education.
- The applicant must have maintained a good high school academic record and maintain a minimum 3.0 grade point ratio while attending college.
- The applicant must demonstrate leadership abilities.
- The applicant must need financial assistance.
The Lexington County Herb Bunch Scholarship

Ann Wingate Scholarship

Justin Thomas Gustav Pepper Memorial Scholarship

Requirements for Eligibility:
Any student attending a South Carolina, Lexington or Newberry County High School, who plans to enroll in the freshman class of an institution of higher learning in any state may apply for this scholarship, with the understanding that board members of The Justin Pepper Foundation are not eligible.
Criteria Followed in Making Awards
In making awards, the following criteria will be given major consideration:
- Volunteer and/or philanthropic activities
- Evidence of academic standing, work experience, leadership, maturity and character
- Clarity and force of Applicant's written statement
The SC State Fair Scholarship
Amount: Varies

Eligibility:
A. Applicant must be a full-time resident of South Carolina and a senior in a public or private high school or home school in South Carolina.
B. Applicant must complete the online application form in its entirety.
C. Applicant must attach a current photograph (preferably a senior class photo).
D. Applicant must attend a public or private college, university, or technical college in the state of South Carolina.
Award:
A. Applicant will be judged based on need, academic and extra-curricular achievement, communication skills, and on aptitude for completion of application.
B. Scholarship will be paid directly to the treasurer’s office of the college or university attended.
C. Fifty (50) $6000 scholarships will be awarded to students across the state to be paid at the rate of $1500 per year over a four-year period. Students pursuing two-year degrees will receive $1500 per year over the two-year period.
The selected fifty (50) 2019 scholars will be required to meet eligibility requirements deemed necessary by the South Carolina State Fair to renew their scholarships each year.
The College Plan Scholarship
Amount: $250

The winning student must be accepted into an accredited college, university, or technical school by the end of the year. The scholarship will be made payable to the attending college, university, or technical school.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Scholarship

The Senator Katrinia Shealy Scholarship

Applicants must be graduating from South Carolina public, private, or home schools and planning to attend a South Carolina university, college or technical college. Students should be active in their school and community, and have a strong academic record.
The Mary McAllister Annual Memorial Scholarship
Amount: $1,000

Requirements for Eligibility:
- High School Senior accepted/applied to a college of their choice and declared to a health care major
- Minimum GPA requirement of 3.2 according to the SC Uniform Grading Scale
- Completed scholarship application information sheet
- Submit a Resume (include work, education, extracurricular activities, etc...)
- Submit 2 references (1 ATC/1 character reference delivered directly from references)
- Submit application with Cover Letter describing yourself and why you aspire to be in the health care profession

The members of the Lexington Woman's Club are pleased to be able to present a scholarship again this year to a graduating senior (male or female) who plans to enter the field of education. Students at all Lexington One high schools are eligible to apply.
The amount of the scholarship changes from year to year, depending on funds raised.

- Must have maintained at 3.0 GPA all through high school.

- Demonstrates through grades, character, and commitment a potential success as a business professional
Midlands Technical College Foundation

The MTC Foundation offers 45 unique scholarships just for MTC students.

Lawyers Against Distracted Driving Scholarship

Christian Connector, Inc Scholarship Drawing
Amount: $2,500

The scholarship runs each year from June 1st through May 31st. The drawing winner of each scholarship is selected at random and The Christian Connector, Inc. reserves the right to change the random drawing selection process at any point. Individuals must meet the below guidelines in order to be eligible to receive the scholarship.
Drawing Guidelines:
- The scholarship recipient must have plans to enroll for the first time as a full-time student at a Christ-centered Christian college or Bible college within 16 months of being notified by The Christian Connector, Inc. that he/she has won the drawing.
- The Christian Connector, Inc. reserves the right to make the determination of whether or not a particular school qualifies. Any school that is a member of the CCCU, NACCAP or ABHE automatically qualifies.
- The scholarship recipient may not currently be enrolled at a Christian college or Bible college.
- The scholarship will not be sent to the individual recipient, but rather it will be sent directly to the school of choice, meeting the above criteria.
- An individual cannot enter the scholarship drawing more than once, however, he/she may use the request form and Christian Connector services as often as they wish.
- By completing the information request form, the winner of the scholarship allows their name, city and state to be used on the site and in promotional materials, announcing that he/she is a Christian Connector scholarship recipient.
Should the initial randomly selected individual(s) not meet the above guidelines for the scholarship drawing entered, the scholarship will be forfeited and offered to another individual until a selected individual who meets the above guidelines is awarded the appropriate scholarship.
