Cawley's Update
September 13, 2020
Dear Parents and my students,
We are getting very close to finishing our Quarter 1 and I appreciate everyone's support up to this time. We will finish our Quarter 1 #strong!
Science
For our first unit in Biology; Reproductive Success, the student outcome is as follows:
Organisms reproduce, either sexually or asexually, and transfer their genetic information to their offspring. Animals will engage in characteristic behaviors to increase the odds of reproduction. Plants sometimes depend on animal behavior and specialized structures for reproductive success.
STEM
Last week, students explored the air quality in their community and identified air pollution sources near their school and in their neighborhood. In addition to this, they started monitoring real-time air quality data through the Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD).
This week, we will investigate the harmful health effects of Air pollution, and solve a mystery air pollution scenario in a certain neighborhood.

Each month I will have the kids reflect on their GLOWS and GROWS in my class.
