AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
In case you haven't noticed... spring has sprung (at least in our part of the world). For me, the change of the seasons is the reminder that change is just a part of life. What we do when change occurs is what matters.
During the faculty meeting last week there was lots of change that was introduced. We were given information about curriculum changes that are coming. We were introduced to schoology and that is going to be a change. There is not anything that any of you can't handle or make it through.
Your mindset about the changes that are coming are what matters. You will be given all the opportunities for training and support over the next several months to help with each of these areas. As you think about these changes I want you to think about this:
It's not what happens to us that makes us who we are, it's how we respond to what happens to us that makes us who we are.
Think. Achieve. Succeed.
Jeff

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
Looking for ideas for tech tools for struggling learners?
Tech Tool for History:
ReadWriteThink Timeline: This tools allows for picture, titles, and descriptions. A great way to make this work well for students is to break it up by task - example: download pictures, add pictures + titles, add description.
Breaking the task down into parts can help students to be more successful and to feel less overwhelmed.
Tech Tool for English:
ReadWriteThink Plot Diagram: Take that plot diagram off the paper. This Plot Diagram tool gives visual cues for what goals in each location of the diagram.
Tech Tool for Science, History, or English:
ReadWriteThink Trading Card Generator: This tool includes visual reminders for the information needed and can be used for lots of varying topics.
Have you checked out readwritethink, org yet? If you haven’t, you should! There are a lot of great online resources for students who struggle and for those who need to get their learning off the paper!
