Mrs. Silva Has Passed Away

Dear School Families and Friends,

It is heartbreaking to have to tell you this news. This afternoon, we received word that Mrs. Silva had gone home to be with Jesus. Anyone who knew Mrs. Silva knew of her immense faith and love of Jesus. There is no place she would rather be and I know that Jesus will bring this most faithful servant home. As with all deaths, though, we are filled with a mixture of joy for the person in this new life and great sadness for those of us who are left behind to grieve. As a staff, we will cherish the many memories we have of Mrs. Silva and I know the children who encountered her will, as well. We ask for your prayers for the Silva and Meeks families and we will let you know about the funeral arrangements as soon as we know. Please know that Mrs. Silva went to meet Jesus in the way she would have wished, surrounded by family members who sang church hymns and prayed the rosary. She is now at peace with the Lord.


Since we weren't notified until this afternoon, we have not let the children know. Please have a talk with them tonight, if it is appropriate. We will be leading an all-school rosary tomorrow morning (for Kindergarten through Grade 8) and have a special intention at the all school mass at 9 am on Friday. We hope you can join us.
