Rock Ledge Primary Center
February, 2024
A message from Mrs. Inman
Dear Rock Ledge Primary Families,
We hope the new year has been off to a positive start for you and your family! Can you believe that we have passed the halfway point for the school year? The month of February is filled with fun and great opportunities for learning! Mid-way through the year is when we assess the students in reading and math. Teachers use this data to celebrate the growth that was made in addition to setting goals for continuous improvement of student learning. We are so proud of our students as they become stronger readers, writers, scientists and mathematicians.
Your Partner in Learning,
Jamie Inman

Meet Our New SRO
Please welcome to our Rock Ledge family, School Resource Officer, Deputy Hambly. Here is a little more information about Deputy Hambly from her:
Hi there!
I am Deputy Hambly with the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office. I am so excited to step into the role as one of the School Resource Officers for the Seymour School District. I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies out of Northern Illinois University and was a Correctional Officer for 6 years before starting on patrol at the Outagamie County Sheriff's Office in 2021. Ensuring the daily safety of the students and staff is my highest priority and I look forward to creating positive interactions with students, staff, and the Seymour community.
Outside of work, I stay busy chasing around my four year old son and running a lemonade business in the summer months. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, trying out new restaurants, persuing farmers markets, jamming to music in my Jeep, shopping for candles I don't need, and traveling.
Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me and I look forward to the challenges, memories, and growth this position will bring.
National School Counseling Week
National School Counseling Week is Feb. 5-9. This week allows us to focus attention on the unique contribution, Mrs. Brittnacher, our school counselor, brings to our students and staff. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve academic and emotional support in the school system. The 2024 theme is "School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused."
WI School Bus Driver Appreciation
Wisconsin School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is Feb 12th-16th, 2023. In our district we use Kobussen, who with the help of 24 drivers transports more than 1046 students daily to schools in our district. School Bus Driver Appreciation Week is an excellent opportunity for parents, students, teachers, and school administrators to take this time to discuss the importance of school bus safety. Please thank a bus driver today!
Winter Vehicle Safety Tips from Our SRO
1) Keep gas tank full to avoid ice in tank and fuel lines
2) Plan your route ahead of time and utilize GPS for updates on traffic changes
3) Have your child help prepare an emergency kit which can remain in vehicle:
a) Portable phone charger / phone charger battery pack
b) Extra items to remain warm: winter hats, gloves, coats and blankets
c) Non-perishable food items and bottled water
d) Flashlight and extra batteries
e) First-aid kit
f) Plastic bags for sanitation
4) In an emergency:
a) Stay with your vehicle and don't overexert yourself
b) Keep interior dome light on and place a bright marker on antenna and/or window
c) Clear exhaust pipe of snow and avoid asphyxiation from carbon monoxide poisoning by avoiding running car for an extended period of time
Stay warm, stay safe!
