Busy Month Ahead
We have conferences coming up this month on October 22nd and October 27th. Please see the attached document for the sign up links to each teacher's conferences. Conferences are all virtual this year and a link will be provided in this document before the conference times.
The last week of October is a short week for students. Wednesday, October 28th is an early release day where all students are dismissed at 1:40PM. There is no school for all students on Thursday, October 29th and Friday, October 30th. Teachers have professional development on Thursday and Friday is a comp day for conference hours. This is always a nice, long weekend for families.
On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of that last week, we are celebrating Community Week! We had to switch up our celebrations this year since we are keeping classes separate and volunteers are not entering our building. The festivities will fold in Community Day and Fall Fests for some fun all week. More details will be shared soon.
Message from Our Specialists
Hello Hillcrest Families,
When your child is independently quarantined due to COVID exposure or out of class for the day and able to complete work, your child will be expected to complete lessons for the specialist class they have that week (art/music/gym) and turn work in google classroom . Each of the students at Hillcrest is connected to a Blackboard account through their classroom teacher. Within that Blackboard account, they have a link for Art, Music, or Physical Education. Your child can access the materials, lessons, and activities for the days or weeks that they are out to still be connected to all areas of learning. We have been doing this during face to face instruction and children should be familiar with the process, while grades k5 and 1st grade may need a bit of adult guidance.
Ms. Bye, Ms. Cosson and Mr. Kuhtz
Message from the Counselor - Heidi Edwards
Recently, your child worked with their school counselor on the ACT Now Children's Hospital of Wisconsin bully prevention program. You can find more information and related at-home activities to support your child in the newsletter linked below. Be sure to take a look!
Join Wednesday, October 14th at 6:15 PM.
