New system changes-technology updates
With the new system parents need to continue to check SwimTopia throughout meet for relay changes & updated heat sheets- we no longer print updated heat sheets but we re-seeded & update free relays before it's time to go to the ready benches, so use the digital versions, not the paper versions for most current info. We had a few relays not get to Swim because tent parents were relying on old info. People get sick & things change at the last minute so this is important to check.
RSVPing for the meet
Don't let the holiday weekend interfere with your RSVP. Even though Monday is a holiday, you will still need to RSVP for the meet by Tuesday.
RSVP will open each Sunday at 8pm.
If you have not RSVP'd by Tuesday, we have to assume that you will not be attending and your child will not be entered into the meet.
A note from Coach Ashley
Hi Cudas,
For relays, if you see a C5, C6, C7 or C8 after your child's name, they are an alternate in the "C" relay. C5 is the 1st alternate, C6 is the 2nd and so on. If a swimmer in the "A" relay is unavailable, then the fastest swimmer in the "B" relay will move up and the rest will follow. If your child has (C5) next to his or her name, they will move onto the "C" relay. Please do not send your child to the ready bench unless you have been told that they are needed as an alternate.
Check for updated meet & relay info on Swim Topia after our scratch meeting at 8:15am. Always check updated heat sheets & Swim topia throughout the meet as we update the meet. Tent parents should let swimmers know if relay alternates are needed based on no shows or someone leaving early.
Also, remember to write your events on your child's arm so they know the events they are swimming. You can find these events in the heat sheet that is emailed out before any meet.
Congrats on still being undefeated! It was a hot day, & we looked really strong out there! I’m so proud of our swimmers for continuing to improve their strokes, speed, & trying their best. We had great sportsmanship & awesome energy all the way to 2:30pm!
Coach Ashley

PLEASE WATCH YOUR CUDAS & LITTLE SIBLINGS!
Although most of the kids playing around the pool are on the swim team and reasonably good swimmers, we request parents watch their kids. Even the best swimmer can struggle if they accidentally fall into the water.
It is very tempting for younger children to splash in the water around the diving boards or near the steps, but this is dangerous and not allowed during swim team practices and swim meets. Only registered swim team participants should be in the water and only during their designated practice time.
If your child is waiting for their practice to begin and wants to play ball, they must use the grassy area outside the fence between the pool and the playground equipment. Not only is it a larger area, but it is safer as well. Footballs, frisbees, and other sports balls are not allowed inside the pool area during practice and swim meets. We have had incidents in the past where parents and children have been hit.
Please keep your children from pulling the bark off the trees and removing the mulch at the base of the trees. The team is responsible for any damage to the landscaping around the pool area.
Climbing on the fence around the pool is not allowed. If you or your child need something outside the fence perimeter, please exit the pool area through the main pool gates to retrieve it.
We really want to keep practices open, meaning non-swimmers can be inside the gates during practice. However, if we have people that are not following the rules, we will have to do a closed practice. This means the only people allowed inside the pool gates during practice will be the coaches and swimmers in the current practice. All others would have to sit outside the gates.
If you have any questions regarding this request, please feel free to contact the Board of Directors at board@swimcuda.com
Thanks for your help with this!
RULES & REMINDERS FOR PARENTS AND SWIMMERS

- Alcoholic beverages may not be openly consumed in and around the pool area, including Festival Park and the Activity Center.
- BBST has a zero tolerance policy for bullying. This includes swimmers, siblings, parents and other adults and children at practices, pep rallies, special events, or meets.
- Pets are not allowed in the pool area (except for Service Animals wearing the proper identification).

Thank you to i9 sports for providing breakfast in our hospitality room!
i9 Sports is the nation’s first and largest youth sports league franchise in the U.S. i9 Sports offers youth sports leagues, camps and clinics. We believe the value we provide must go far beyond the sport itself. It must be about more than the rules of the game. About more than who plays what position. About more than the score. i9 Sports focuses on how the game is played, how much fun we can make it for the kids, and how easy we can make it for the parents. i9 Sports offers an alternative to the disorganized, hyper-competitive, win-at-all-cost culture that pervades most youth sports programs today by providing age-appropriate instruction that's fun for kids and convenient for today's busy families.
Why i9 Sports?
• We focus on fun and safety for the kids and convenience for busy families.
• We emphasize good sportsmanship and age appropriate instruction. There are no tryouts or drafts, and we try to give every child equal playing time.
• Practices and games are on the same day, which means you only drive to the field once a week!
• No fundraising.
i9 Sports is the way youth sports should be. Come be a part of the experience beyond the game!
